About TAK

Tau Alpha Kappa was granted a Charter in 1969 as the first Social Fraternity in Louisiana College history. Since that time, TAK has been first in many areas of student leadership at Louisiana College.

• TAK initiated the first "Cochon de Lait" Celebration at LC
• First to have a functioning alumni association separate and complete from its active chapter
• Active in local civic affairs through a clothes distribution center for the betterment of the community
• TAK has also worked in other areas of service such as blood drives, food drives and cancer research funding
• Established a scholarship at LC for those who have been touched by the ill-effects of cancer and heart disease

Induction into Tau Alpha Kappa is only available to male Louisiana College students who are initiated at the discretion of TAK, as per their granted Charter.

TAK is committed to the development and promotion of intellectual advancement, charitable benevolence, social enjoyment and to the pursuit of interpersonal excellence established through The Brotherhood.

Because of its foundation in higher education, Tau Alpha Kappa believes that apathy, complacency and conspiracy cannot be synonymous with academic tranquility. Also, through Brotherhood and Fraternilization, TAK holds the factions of honesty, loyalty & chivalry as being desired and forthright, and pledges continual dedication and reverence by supporting the Constitution of Tau Alpha Kappa, as established by its charter.

The Tau Alpha Kappa Alumni Association was further established to affirm the realization that the bonds of Brotherhood reach far beyond the hallowed halls of Louisiana College, and is broadened & strengthened through a lifetime commitment of association.

Since officially organizing, the TAK Alumni Association has continued to flourish under its self-governing body, and has added benevolence to the traditions of honesty, loyalty and chivalry. The continual growth of the TAK Cancer & Heart Disease Scholarship Fund is the embodiment of these esteemed traits.
